Omani arrested over expat hit and run death

Muscat: An Omani who drove over an expat in Sohar and fled the scene of the accident has been arrested.
A Royal Oman Police spokesman said: "The police department in North Batinah arrested a citizen accused of running over a person and escaping the place of the accident leaving the dead body behind."
"The police station in Sohar received a report at 4:00 am stating the body of an Asian national was found dead as a result of being run over by a vehicle on the main street near the Suwayhrah roundabout, and the driver had escaped."
After investigation, the accused was found and arrested, and he confessed committing in the accident.
