Over 17,000 visit Wadi Bani Khalid during holidays

Muscat: Over 17,000 people visited Wadi Bani Khalid during the recent National Day holidays, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

In a statement posted online, the authority said, "Wadi Bani Khalid received a total of 17,890 visitors during the period :November 20-24".

Located 203 kilometres from Muscat, Wadi Bani Khalid is renowned for its flowing waterfalls, abundant pools, and natural lakes. The wilayat's mountainous terrain includes a host of scenic villages and towns including Bida and Muqal.

The popular tourist site can be reached by taking the Bidbid-Sur road to the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and continuing onto a side road to the wadi.
