Muscat: Volkswagen Oman, represented by Wattayah Motors, is expanding its model range in the Sultanate with the introduction of the all-new the Arteon. The much-anticipated Gran Turismo that is positioned above the Passat and extends the Volkswagen line-up to offer a premium class model.
The completely new, bold and avant-garde fastback offers more space and flexibility as a result of its long wheelbase, coupé-like fastback design, and large rear hatch. This offers excellent rear legroom and a luggage compartment volume of 563 to 1,557 litres, setting new benchmarks its segment.
Commenting on the arrival of the Arteon in the Sultanate, David Ryan, General Manager of Volkswagen Oman said, “The Arteon offers our customers a class leader in the premium segment. Combining the design elements of a sports car with the elegance and space of a fastback, the five-door Gran Turismo represents style, comfort and innovation.”
In addition to its unmistakable design, Arteon impresses through its highly efficient TSI engine (power output range 190 HP and 280 HP), front-wheel or all-wheel drive as well as digitalised instruments and controls.
The interactive and digitalised interfaces include optional high-tech features such as the Active Info Display (fully digitalised instruments) and a head-up display. Volkswagen has developed new infotainment systems (6.5 to 9.2 inch); with the new top system, the Discover Pro, featuring a tablet-like glass surface. It manages its tasks efficiently and entirely without analogue buttons. The 9.2-inch display is also equipped with intuitive gesture control.
Based on the award-winning Volkswagen MQB platform, the Arteon presents affordable innovation and features the latest Volkswagen driver assistance systems; these include the next-generation navigation system utilising GPS data, as well as new dynamic cornering lights with predictive beam control that anticipate when a bend is approaching and illuminate it before the driver actively turns into the bend.
