Muscat: A number of ministerial responses received from the Government, as well as the recommendations of Majlis Al Shura on studying the conditions of the private schools in the Sultanate were reviewed by the Majlis Al Shura Office on Sunday.
The Majlis Al Shura Office held its 2nd meeting of the third annual sitting (2018 – 2019) of the 8th term under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.
The Office also reviewed the response of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries on the inquiry about the progress rate and the executive status of Oman Vision 2020 with regard to the contribution of the agriculture and fisheries sector to the GDP.
Further, the Office reviewed the reply of the Minister of Commerce and Industry on the inquiry about the standards and metrology for the gas cylinders.
It also reviewed the response of the Minister of Manpower on the inquiry about the mechanism for limiting the number of free expatriate manpower.
The Office also approved a number of oversight tools and means that were submitted by members of Majlis Al Shura including one addressed to the Minister of Transport and Communications on transforming Sultan Qaboos Port to a tourist port.
The Office also reviewed the letter of the Chairman of the Arab Parliament on facing the Israeli presence in the African continent and the measures taken by Parliament in this regard.
