Muscat: Shares on the Muscat bourse reacted on profit booking. MSM30 Index ended on a flat note to close at 5,111.41 points, marginally down by 0.06 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index ended at 731.49 points, up by 0.15 per cent. Ominvest was the most active regarding volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was Financial Services, up by 8.27 per cent, while the top loser was Ominvest, with a loss of 3.77 per cent.
A total number of 385 trades were executed on Wednesday, generating a turnover of OMR30.86 million with 56.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded securities, 4 advanced, 14 declined, and 24 remained unchanged. Omani investors switched were net buyers for OMR334,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR320,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR14,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index was down by 0.29 per cent to close at 7,374.35 points. Gulf Investment Services and Bank Muscat increased by 1.22 per cent and 1.01 per cent, respectively. Ominvest, Vision Insurance, Al Sharqiya Investment and Al Anwar Holding declined by 3.77 per cent, 2.76 per cent, 1.87 per cent and 1.33 per cent, respectively.
Industry Index ended at 6,725.02 points, down by 0.28 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries and Jazeera Steel Products declined by 3.77 per cent, 0.93 per cent, 0.79 per cent and 0.78 per cent, respectively.
Services Index up by 0.11 per cent to close at 2,601.91 points. Ooredoo Oman and Suwadi Power gained by 1.89 per cent and 0.70 per cent, respectively. Port Services, OIFC and Al Maha Petroleum declined by 1.64 per cent, 1.41 per cent and 0.98 per cent, respectively.
