Oman Cricket: Enhance Eagles down GB Strikers for third successive victory

Muscat: MDC Enhance Eagles recorded their third consecutive victory in the A Division when they defeated Glory Bower Strikers by five wickets at Ministry of Sports Affairs Ground II in Al Amerat on Saturday.
Strikers won the toss and opted to bat first but failed to put a competitive total on the board, leaving Eagles an easy task of chasing 116 for victory, which it did in the 27th over, losing five wickets in the process.
Pranav Mehta and Parth Trivedi saved Enhance eagles with a 66-run partnership for the third wicket. While Parth left after scoring 46 off 65 balls, Pranav stayed on to score a fighting 54 not out off 71 balls to ensure another win for his side.
Earlier, Enhance bowlers kept a tight control over Strikers’ batting, which folded up for just 115 in 33 overs. Vijayanand Dhayanandan (37) and Nidhin Mohan (23) were the only notable scorers. Mohammed Faisal and Omkar Pramod claimed three wickets each while Ananyo Sen and Pradeep Kumar bagged two wickets each.

Samir lifts Mott MacDonald
A vital unbeaten 43 by Samir More helped Mott MacDonald to a 103-run victory against Zubair CT in a D Division clash at Muscat Municipality Ground III.
Struggling at 56 for six, Mott MacDonald recovered through a 66-run sixth-wicket partnership between Samir and Javed Tanash, who scored 29 off 20 balls. Samir remained not out on 43 as his side reached 160 for eight in 20 overs. Retheesh Gopinathan and Balachandran Ramachandran took two wickets each.
Zubair CT had a batting nightmare in broad daylight, getting bowled out for a paltry 57 in the 12th over. Gawas Ganpat, Savinraj Rajappan, Sagar Ingle and Jijo Jackson all bagged two wickets each.

Zeeshan stars for Bank Muscat
A superb five-wicket spell by Zeeshan Jufail steered Bank Muscat to an emphatic 71-run victory against Douglas OHI in an E Division match at Muscat Municipality Ground IV on Friday.
Batting first, Bank Muscat scored 159 for eight in 20 overs and then dismissed OHI for a meagre 88 in 13.5 overs. Zeeshan Jufail bagged five wickets for 23 in a great spell of four overs.

ISM, ISWK in thrilling tie
In 50-over Under-19 League, Indian School Muscat (ISM) and Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) shared the points after an exciting tie at the Ministry of Sports Affairs Ground II.
Batting first, ISM were dismissed for 122 in 37th over. Vikram Nabira (25) and Vivek Shreeraman Iyer (23) were the main scorers. Malik Rashid Ali Khan claimed five wickets while Neev Poojari bagged two.
ISWK couldn’t do better and were bowled out for a laborious 122 in 48.1 overs as the game ended in a tie. Neev Poojari (31) and Kevin Stagy (26) were the only notable scorers. Mohsin Ali claimed four wickets while Vikram Nabira bagged two.
