Muscat: Boeing will showcase a range of products and services for the first time at this year’s Dubai Airshow. Included in the company’s display are the 787-10 Dreamliner, the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft simulator, flydubai’s 737 MAX and Emirates’ 777-300ER. Boeing’s extensive presence at the show underscores the company’s commitment to the Middle East as a key growth market across its commercial, defense, space and services businesses.
“Boeing continues to grow and strengthen its footprint across the Middle East through innovative products and services that have won the confidence of our customers,” said Bernard Dunn, president, Boeing Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. “While some of those products will be on display at the show, perhaps even more important is what you can’t see—our commitment to building and sustaining long-term partnerships to encourage and grow regional capabilities, skills and young talent in the communities in which we operate.”
The strength of these partnerships will be demonstrated in Saudi Arabia as the country undertakes reforms through its Vision 2030 plan.
“Boeing is well positioned to help drive the Kingdom’s aerospace industry forward,” said Ahmed Jazzar, president of Boeing Saudi Arabia. “Strong relationships with Saudia and SaudiGulf Airline in the Kingdom, as well as several key partnerships, have already positioned Boeing favorably in the nation’s aerospace capabilities.”
The Middle East is a key market for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, underlining growing demand for both its single and twin aisle airplanes. In addition to the 787-10, the newest and longest member of the super-efficient 787 family, the 737 MAX—one of flydubai’s recently delivered airplanes - will also be on display for the first time.
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) will showcase its industry-leading products at the show. For the first time in Dubai, Boeing will feature its CST-100 Starliner spacecraft simulator that will underline the region’s vision for space travel and exploration. Developed in collaboration with NASA's Commercial Crew Program, the Starliner was designed to accommodate seven passengers, or a mix of crew and cargo, for missions to low-Earth orbit and the International Space Station. Boeing defense products scheduled to be on display include the AH-64 Apache and the CH-47 Chinook helicopters, as well as the F-15 multi-role fighter.
