Indian School Al Ghubra celebrates 'Malayalam Day’

Muscat: Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG) celebrated ‘Keralappiravi’ or ‘Malayalam Day’ on November 1, 2017.
The day was celebrated to make students appreciate the beauty and splendor of Kerala, a south Indian state and capture it spirit. The state officially came into existence in 1956.
Principal Papri Ghosh presided over the function and extended greetings on this occasion.
In her address she emphasised on the importance of mother tongue which helps in unlocking potential.
To commemorate this day, the Department of Malayalam, organised various literary events like recitation, poem writing, quiz, story-telling, speech and essay writing.
About 380 students participated in the competitions, which gave them a platform to express their ideas in their native language and have a better understanding of the rich culture and tradition of the state.
The event concluded with a poetical representation of the culture of Kerala, which enthralled the audience.
