Plan for integrated dairy farm to meet 90 per cent of Oman's needs

Muscat: An integrated dairy farm with the capacity to meet almost 90 per cent of the Sultanate's needs will be set up by Mazon Dairy Products Company.
Mazon Dairy products Company is one of the companies in the Sultanate associated with food security products and has established its projects in the Governorate of Al Buraimi.
The company aims to establish an integrated dairy products farm which aims to meet 87 per cent of the needs of the local market in terms of dairy products in the coming ten years and to export by 2040.
The project will be established in the Wilayat of Al Sinaynah, in the Governorate of Al Buraimi.
The project will create 2,300 jobs and will employ 70 per cent Omanis in its work force.
The project is in line with the policies of the Sultanate which continues to accord due care to food security as one of the pillars of sustainable development.
Industries associated with food security supervised on by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry include food processing and canning of sea food, establishment of integrated farms among other projects.
