Emir of Qatar receives Oman Interior Minister in Doha

Doha: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar received at the Emiri Diwan in Doha on Tuesday Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior within the framework of his participation in the first Major Event Safety and Security Conference being held in Qatar.
During the meeting, the Minister of Interior conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said along with best wishes of permanent health and happiness to the Emir of Qatar, and the brotherly Qatari people further progress and growth.
On his turn, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani asked Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal to convey his greetings along with best wishes of continuous health and a long life to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and the Omani people further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the existing good fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and all matters that would enhance ties of the joint cooperation were reviewed and discussed.
Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior arrived in Doha earlier yesterday on a visit to Qatar to take part in the First Major Event Safety and Security Conference.
The Minister of Interior and his accompanying delegation were received at Doha International Airport by Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister, Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, Najeeb bin Yahya Al Balushi, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar and Qatari officials.
Major Event Safety and Security Conference
Later, the Minister of Interior, participated in the first Major Event Safety and Security Conference, which started in the State of Qatar and continues for two days under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar.
The conference is organised by the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SCDL) in collaboration with Interpol. It aims to establish security measures and precautions for international sporting events and to implement them in preparation for these events.
The conference will also contribute to determining the security arrangements to be made during the sports championships to be held in Qatar in 2022.
The conference brings together a number of countries that have hosted major international sporting events to reflect best practices, successes and lessons learned, enhancing the preparations of countries that plan to organise such events in the future by providing them with the latest knowledge and expertise to enrich the security preparations for hosting a major event.
