Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump at the Kasumigaseki Country Club golf club north of Tokyo on Sunday (November 5), the first time the two met after Trump landed in the country and spoke with troops in the U.S. airbase earlier in the morning.
During lunch before playing golf, Trump and Abe signed hats that read "Donald & Shinzo Make Alliance Even Greater."
The hats were a surprise gift to Trump from Abe, according to Japan's ministry of foreign affairs. Japanese professional golf player Hideki Matsuyama is also expected to be playing golf with Trump and Abe later in the afternoon.
Japan is the first stop of Trump's first Asia tour.
