Muscat: Superb batting by opener Syed Arfan Ali and a deadly spell by Manas Kapoor steered National Bank of Oman (NBO) to a big 96-run win over Gazal Spices in an E Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground II in Al Amerat.
Arfan’s 79 off 57 was instrumental in NBO posting a sizeable total on the board, scoring 206 for eight in 20 overs. Ramesh V and Manas contributed 28 and 27 respectively. Mohammed Awais was expensive but took three wickets whileBabuSintobagged two.
Manas bowled exceptionally well to derail Gazal’s chase, taking last six wickets for just 18 runs as the Spices were bowled out for 110 in the 16th over.

Ramzan spurs Ahli Bank
Ramzan Muhammed’s impressive all-round show led Ahli Bank to a five-wicket win against Khalsa United in an F Division match at Muscat Municipality Ground III.
Batting first, Khalsa was restricted to 118 for eight in 20 overs, thanks to some tight bolwing by the bankers. Deepesh Mehta and Sushil Kadam scored 27 and 20 runs respectively. Ramzan and Asad Azeem took two wickets each.
Struggling at 74 for five, Ahli Bank recovered well to surpass the target in the 17th over, scoring 120 for five thanks to Ramzan’s valuable 37 not out and Syed Imran’s fluent 37. Arvind bowled well to claim three wickets.

Sohail Khan and Irtaza Ahmed helped Unique Elegant to a seven-wicket victory against Muscat Masters in a G Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground IV on Friday.
Asked to bat first, Masters could manage only 119 before being bowled out in 16 overs. Captain Gaurav Honavar scored a stylish 39 off 26 balls while Muhammed Sarwar contributed 35 off 20. Irtaza was the main wicket-taker with three for 15. Haja Hussain and Vicky Chandrakant bagged two wickets each.
Unique Elegant raced to the target, scoring 122 for three thanks to a breezy knock of 59 off just 30 balls. Suketu Manilal Limbani batted well too for his unbeaten 38.

Noor Ahmed and Ali Mohsin Aslam powered TR Engineering to an easy nine-wicket win over Bosher Olympic Center (BOC) in an H Division game at OAC Ground III in Seeb.
BOC, batting first, were dismissed for a meagre 91 in the 19th over. Syed Waleed Bukhari top-scored with a sedate 25. Noor Ahmed ran through the middle and late order, taking four wickets for 12 runs.
TR Engineering then eased to a comfortable win, scoring 92 for one in just eight overs, thanks to a whirlwind knock of 58 off 27 balls by Ali Mohsin Aslam.

Global United rout Jotun

In another H Division match at the same venue, Global United defeated Jotun Paints by eight wickets, thanks to an unbeaten 85 off 53 deliveries by opener Ibrar Hussain.
Jotun Paints posted a fighting total of 178 for eight in 20 overs but Global United surpassed it in the 19th over, losing only two wickets in the process. Ahmed Sameer and Shoab Mohammed chipped in with 33 each.
