Debtors charity receives OMR15,000 cheque from PDO

Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has donated OMR15,000 to free debtor prisoners. The money was given to the Fak Kurbah (Redeeming Anguish) campaign which has been set up by the Omani Lawyers Association (OLA).
External Affairs and Value Creation Director Abdul-Amir Al Ajmi handed over the cheque to the vice-chairman of OLA, Dr Hamed Al Rubiay.
It’s not the first time PDO has donated to the cause. Two years ago PDO donated OMR10,000 to the campaign to help free debtor prisoners so they can spend Eid Al Adha with their families.
PDO made its first OMR10,000 contribution to the campaign before Eid Al Fitr in 2015 and a second towards the end of 2014. A total of 45 prisoners we released from jail during the last two years.
