Oman traffic: Al Khoud Bridge safe for use, say Muscat Municipality

Muscat: Al Khoud Bridge is safe for use, Muscat Municipality has assured.
Images of Al Khoud Bridge, specifically those showing the bridge gap getting wider, had gone viral on social media.
However, after running a series of tests on the bridge, Muscat Municipality has assured that the situation is normal.
The Municipality, along with the contractor that designed the bridge, tested the entirety of the bride where they determined that the distance between the expansion points is normal considering its original design.
The bridge bearing was also inspected and passed without showing signs of damage as well as the bridge columns and barriers where it was determined as normal.
