Oman share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4,452.12 points, up by 0.04 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 605.71 points, up by 0.04 per cent. OIFC was the most active in terms of volume while Ahli Bank Perpetual Bonds were the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Global Financial Investment, up by 1.15 per cent while the top loser was Bank Dhofar Rights Issue which closed lower by 18.18 per cent.
A total number of 149 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.12 million with more than 4.10 million shares changing hands. Out of 25 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 8 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR6,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR3,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR8,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.05 per cent at 6,948.91 points. Global Financial Investment Holding, and Bank Sohar were up by 1.15 per cent and 0.80 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investments, Al Sharqiya Investments, and Bank Muscat were down by 2.50 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.10 per cent to close at 5,304.88 points. There were no gainers. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were down by 1.33 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.03 per cent to close at 2,391.96 points. Phoenix Power closed up by 0.94 per cent while OIFC was down by 2.27 per cent.
