Oman Cricket: Imran’s brilliance inspires Mehul Enterprises to victory over MSE

Muscat: In what seemed like a battle of all-rounders, Imran Khan’s match-winning effort saw Mehul Enterprises defeat Mustafa Sultan Enterprises (MSE) by 15 runs in an F Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground II in Al Amerat.
Asked to bat first, Mehul werer able to post a fighting total on the board thanks to a fluent 33 off 21 balls by Imran batting at number eight. Shadab Kazi (28), Mateen Ulde (25) and Haneef Jamaluddin (25) batted well too as Mehul ended its quota of 20 overs at 182 for nine. Abdullah Alam and Krishor Krishnan took three and two wickets respectively.
MSE captain and all-rounder Abdullah Alam followed his excellent spell with a quality knock of 36 to keep his side in the game. Nagendra Kumar came in later to strike a fighting 66 but Imran Khan kept striking at regular intervals to ensure MSE were bundled out for 167 in the last over. Sachin Mamnani bowled well too to claim three wickets.

Nadil stars in OCT Al Nahda win
Nadil Al Balushi struck a hurricane 24-ball 50 to help OCT Al Nahdha to a seven-wicket win over Hussain Fadhil and Partners (HFP) in a G Division match at Muscat Municipality Ground III on Friday.
HFP needed a big total on the board after conceding a 42-run penalty due to late start. However, it could manage only 140 for five with Aniket Prakash leading the way with an unbeaten 68 of 46 balls. Elson Samson scored 31. Rashid Al balushi bagged three wickets.
Though opener Khalid Moosa gave OCT Al Nahdha good start with a 15-ball 29, Nadil played exceptionally well to steer his team to victory as it reached 141 for three in just 10.3 overs. Mithun Nair bagged two wickets for 17.

Raghunath lifts Maxitech

Raghunath Masanam’s great all-round show powered Maxitech International to a comfortable seven-wicket victory against Aster Hospital in an H Division game at OAC Ground III in Al Seeb.
Raghunath was brilliant with the ball, taking four wickets as Aster Hospital were bowled out for 158 in the 20th over. He later batted with authority, slamming an unbeaten 49 off 27 balls to see Maxitech home by seven wickets in just 13 overs.

Crazy Challengers win
FHD Crazy Challengers thrashed Sketch International by nine wickets in an H Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground IV.
Challengers bowled well to restrict Sketch International to 150 for five in 20 overs and then chased down the total in a canter, scoring 154 for onein the 13th over. Shaikh Akbar Gafar (76 not out off 38) and Praveen Kumar (51 off 24) played brilliantly well to put it beyond Sketch boys.
