2017 Al Nahda golf tourney to be bigger and better

Muscat: A total of 88 players are expected to turn up for the latest Al Nahda Annual Golf tournament, which is to be held on the October 20.
Now in its fifth year, this edition of the tournament promises to be its biggest and best yet, and will be held at the Dunes by Al Nahda resort in Al Abeyat, situated about 95 kilometres away from Oman’s capital, Muscat.
“This year will see our annual golf tournament take on its biggest edition yet,” said Niti Hamlai, managing director for Al Nahda Hotels and Resorts. “We expect to have about 88 players tee off at our tournament in groups of four, and we think this was a safe number for us to accommodate. The next time around, we intend to have even more players join us.
“I think, that our values of ethics, integrity, sincerity, dedication and intelligence are the same qualities you see when you play a game of golf, and we think this will be a great opportunity for many people to relieve themselves of the stress of the work day and show their talents,” she added. “I would like to thank everyone who has worked hard to make these events a success.”
“I think, in the beginning, we began this tournament with just 20 players, and it has now become an event many look forward to in Oman’s social calendar,” said Hamlai. “Earlier, we used to ask players to join us, but now players ask us when the tournament is going to take place, so that shows how far we have come.”
A host of sponsors have thrown their weight behind this event, among them being BMW, Lufthansa, Markaz Al Bahja, ID Design and Nuhas Oman.
“The values of BMW have always been class and intelligence, and they are two of the qualities that stand out the most in a game of golf, so we are glad to be part of this tournament,” said Achint Chaudhary, business head for BMW. “We are happy to partner with Al Nahda for this event, and look forward to joining them for future such events as well.
“Markaz Al Bahja is proud to be part of this event, and are happy to have sponsored the Al Nahda golf tournament,” added Prashant Dutt, general manager for Markaz Al Bahja. “We are glad to see Al Nahda promoting such events in Oman, and will also look forward to partnering with them for events that take place after this.”
