Bank Sohar to conduct Annual Cancer Awareness Walkathon

Muscat: As part of its community-led initiatives under the ‘Sohar Al Atta’ CSR programme, Bank Sohar is promoting the 14th Annual Cancer Walkathon that is to be organised by Oman Cancer Association (OCA) at the end of the month.
The bank’s branches at MBD and Azaiba have set up registration booths that will be open from October 8 to 12 at its main branch in MBD, and on October 11 and 12 at Azaiba branch between 8am and 2 pm. Customers and members of the public are invited to register themselves and their family members for the Annual Cancer Walkathon.
Commenting on the bank’s role in supporting the association’s initiatives, Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM – HR and Corporate Support at Bank Sohar, said, “We are an organisation that is governed by a strong sense of commitment towards the betterment of society, with an active presence in charity and welfare associations across the Sultanate. Our partnership with Oman Cancer Association dates back nearly a decade and our involvement in their outreach initiatives has been a priority. We are once again happy to lend assistance to the 14th Annual Walkathon, which we have been supporting regularly for the last few years. I urge everyone to visit our designated branches to purchase tickets in order to participate in the upcoming walkathon and to help the OCA in its awareness campaign. Our MBD and Azaiba branches are open to all staff, customers and the general public to come and show their support.”
As a socially committed organisation, Bank Sohar has played a very active role in spreading cancer awareness under the umbrella of its ‘Sohar Al Atta’ CSR programmes. Bank Sohar’s support of the OCA chronicles regular and substantial assistance towards numerous awareness campaigns and outreach activities such as advocacy campaigns, assisting the association in gaining significant mileage for important awareness drives.
