Muscat: Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned a terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia that led to the death of two Saudi guards and the injury of three others when a man drove up to the gate of the royal palace in Jeddah and began shooting.
"The Sultanate condemns the terrorist attack on a guard post belonging to the Saudi Royal Guard in Jeddah yesterday," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted.
"The statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the solidarity of the sultanate with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its security against the scourge of violence and terrorism," said the Ministry of Information statement.
The statement expressed "sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Saudi Arabia, and the government, wishing the wounded a fast recovery."
