Indian School Thumrait celebrates annual day

Muscat: Indian School Thumrait celebrated fourth annual day on March 4.
The event was presided over by the chief guest Shaikh Al Munther Ahmed Salim Al Marhoon, the Wali of Thumrait.
S. Ram Santhanam, president, SMC Indian School Salalah, Dr. Ernest Ezhilarasan, vice president SMC ISS, Suresh Babu, member, SMC, ISS and Trevor Ronald Brown, principal, Indian School Salalah also attended the function.
Rassal Mohammed, president, SMC Indian School Thumrait, Dr. Praveen, convener, SMC IST, Koya Abubakar, treasurer, SMC IST and Dr. S.K. Tiwari, principal, IST greeted the guests and extended a warm welcome. A memento was presented to the chief guest.
In his welcome speech, Rassal Mohammed recalled the days when he and his team started the school with just 35 students four years ago and expressed his satisfaction over the way the school is touching new heights every day.
The chief guest awarded mementos to Rekha and Aneesha for their efforts in coordinating and conducting various national and international contests in school.
Mahmaood Akhtar Sultan Ahammed was conferred with the traditional shawl by the chief guest for his support and services to the school since its inception. Atiya Sultana was recognized as the Best Improved Teacher for 2015-16, and was conferred a memento and Certificate of Appreciation by the chief guest for her patience, skills and ability in handling any situation.
Lissy was awarded a certificate of appreciation and gift for her committed service to school.
Dr. S.K. Tiwari, principal in his Annual Report highlighted the achievements of the school and set goals for the future.
Santhanam said the Indian School Thumrait is an extension of the Indian School Salalah and assured his full support for IST.
The students presented variety of entertainment programmes. The evening was colourful with cultural programmes.
