Three arrested by Oman police for smuggling drugs by boat

Muscat: Three Arab nationals have been arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs, Royal Oman police announced.

"A police boat managed to stop a smuggling boat off the coast of Dhofar. Three Arabs were on board and in their possession was a large amount of Khat," ROP said.

Earlier this year, seven drug smuggling operations were foiled in Dhofar waters, and 18 people of Arab and Asian nationalities were arrested in connection with the operations. The arrests resulted in the seizure of large quantities of various drugs, including Khat and other psychotropic substances.
