Dharamsala: As Oman gears up for their opening Group A match of the ICC World T20 against Ireland, Oman Cricket board member Pankaj Khimji claimed it to be ‘history in the making for the Sultanate’.
“It’s a big day for Oman and the game of cricket in the country and we are looking forward for the game,” said Pankaj after Oman’s practice session.
“I hope we make a great start and the boys I am confident will do it,” he added.
Meanwhile, Oman Cricket General Secretary Madhu Jesrani was brimming with enthusiasm. “I am looking forward for the big day. Nothing better can be visualised now. Let’s hope we will have an evening to cherish,” said Madhu.
Oman team manager Jameel Zaidi, who had earlier clarified that ‘Mankading’ will not be adopted without prior warning, said: “After Scotland victory team spirit is high and we are confident team will excel in all departments -- batting, bowling and fielding -- which is crucial ingredient for victory.
