Arsonist arrested over shop fires for insurance money

Muscat: A man who set fire to a shop to gain an insurance payout, but ended up burning down four other adjacent shops in the process, has been arrested.
"Bidiyah police station arrested a person for setting fire to shops in Wilayat Bidiyah," Royal Oman Police said in a statement.
"The suspect set fire to the shop where he works in order to obtain the insurance money, but it resulted in the burning of four neighbouring shops," an official source at ROP said.
The accused was referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation.
