Slaughterhouse remains on sale in Oman

Muscat: Remains from slaughterhouses in Rustaq were being scooped up and offered for sale to restaurants and malls in Musannah, according to consumer watchdogs.
"The Public Authority for Consumer Protection in Rustaq, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, recently caught expats who collect the remains of slaughter animals in slaughterhouses and store them at a rented farm in Musannah," a source in ROP said.
"The expats would then clean the leftover parts in an unhygienic place and distribute them to a number of restaurants and malls," the source added.
