Blooming flowers of Wakan Village

Flower photography might seem the easiest thing to do as flowers are commonly photographed. But for a photographer the real challenge comes when he needs to make them stand out from the rest. Geril Ventura, who loves clicking pictures of Oman and its landscapes, enjoys flower photography as he finds new perspective on flowers through his lens. By highlighting each flowers’ shape and colour he manages to capture every little detail, be it the dew drops, the veins on the leaves, or the patterns on the petals. Having travelled extensively in Oman to get the best shot he was delighted to capture the flowers in full bloom at Wakan Village.
“What fascinates me about flowers is the intricate details that you find in them when you get a close up look which to others might be ordinary. There is uniqueness in each and every variety; it may be a dry leaf, a small fruit, flower bud, or a twig. Through my photographs I want to show that there is hidden beauty in the smallest thing. It is important to be observant and have a keen eye for details,” said Geril.
