Muscat: Oman were deprived of a valuable match practice ahead of their ICC World T20 participation when their warm-up match against Afghanistan was rained off in Mohali, India on Sunday.
According to information received here, the match at the IS Bindra Stadium was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Oman, who are being coached by Sri Lankan great Duleep Mendis, were looking forward for the Afghanistan challenge, especially after their thrilling 14-run win over Scotland in their first official warm-up ahead of the World T20 on Friday.
The Sultanate squad will now head to Dharamsala to begin their ICC World T20 campaign.
Oman are scheduled to play their first Group A match against Ireland on Wednesday.
They will also play the Netherlands on March 11 and formidable Bangladesh on March 13. The group toppers will make it to the Super 10 stage of the ICC World T20 Championship.
