Banks in Oman warned after OMR10,000 stolen from customer

Muscat: Banks are being advised to monitor the safety of customers who withdraw large amounts of cash, after a person was robbed of OMR10,000. “The Criminal Investigation Department of the Bausher Police Station arrested three people of Arab nationality for theft and vandalism,” the ROP said. The accused followed the victim while he was leaving a commercial bank with around of OMR10,000 in an envelope. “After following him in front of his house, they broke into the vehicle through the window and stole the money. The three suspects were identified and arrested,” the ROP stated. The Royal Oman Police advises citizens and residents to take precautionary measures while withdrawing large sums of money from commercial banks and not to carry them in a manner that draws attention. “We also stress the necessity of not leaving cash in the vehicle and for commercial banks to monitor and track who has large sums of money,” the ROP said.
