Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4446.06 points, up by 0.56 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 604.74 points, up by 0.45 per cent. Ominvest was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Raysut Cement up by 4.10 per cent while the top loser was Renaissance Services which closed lower by 1.52 per cent.
A total number of 581 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR4.24 million with more than 20.32 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 2 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR2.19 million followed by foreign investors for OMR5,000 while GCC and Arab investors remained as net buyers for OMR2.20 million worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.71 per cent at 6979.70 points. Al Madina Investment, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Bank Muscat and Dhofar Insurance were up by 2.56 per cent, 2.47 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 1.9 per cent and 1.88 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding was down by 0.81 per cent.
Industrial Index gained 0.46 per cent to close at 5335.25 points. Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Galfar Engineering were up by 4.1 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Wednesday.
Services Index lost 0.07 per cent to close at 2395.80 points. OIFC and Omantel were up by 2.3 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services was down by 1.52 per cent.
