London: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, is taking part in the World Travel Market (WTM), which opened yesterday in London.
The pavilion of the Sultanate of Oman, which includes 24 companies from the hotel sector and tourism companies, reflects Omani cultural features and distinctive heritage landmarks.
Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism, was briefed on the contents of the Sultanate’s pavilion, which included official participation by government and private entities represented in tourism companies and hotel establishments that displayed pictures of tourism components which the Sultanate is rich with.
The minister was also briefed on the tourism services that provided to tourists and the various tourism programs and activities.
The Minister of Tourism, on the sidelines of the Sultanate’s participation in the World Travel Market in London, held meetings with a number of officials of international tourist organisations and companies.
He briefed them on the tourism developments in the Sultanate, the potentials that are abounding in it and the developments in the tourism sector, especially regarding the tourist visa facilities and the flexibility of the procedures that come in as part of the efforts exerted by the Sultanate to increase the flow of tourists from the world tourism markets, in line with the development of this sector at various levels.
Oman’s participation in this international tourism forum aims to open up wider horizons for marketing the tourism destinations, patterns and services in the Sultanate and also to learn about the experiences of countries and international specialised institutions participating in the market.
The latest developments in international tourism industry, the most prominent offers and promotional campaigns, in addition to establishing relations, work and direct cooperation opportunities between Omani tourism institutions and their counterparts in various international markets to attract investment in the Omani tourism sector, which is witnessing an increasing growth in enterprises and projects, that reflect the great prospectus for the promising opportunities offered by the sector.
