Anantara Salalah starts #LetitRain campaign

Salalah: With the Khareef season now in full swing across Salalah and the rest of the Dhofar region, the Anantara Al Baleed resort in Salalah has unveiled its new #LetitRain campaign during what is the region’s peak tourist season.
The campaign encourages visitors to Salalah to post their photos of the Khareef season on Instagram with the hashtag #LetitRain, and follow the resort on its official handle, @AnantaraSalalah.
"The winner receives a two-night stay in one of our luxury one-bedroom private pool villas including breakfast for two," said Victoria Benz, marketing and communications manager for Anantara Salalah.
"The idea is to spread the word about the beauty of the Khareef and inspire travel to Salalah during this unique time," she added. "One grand prize winner will be a random pick from #LetItRain posts and will be announced on 21 September 2017. We also will have pop-up prizes throughout the competition to keep interest, such as dining vouchers for our restaurants."
The campaign runs in English and Arabic, and has seen more than 200 posts since its inception on July 2.
With the resort having only opened last November, Anantara Salalah will be hoping to welcome many tourists during its first Khareef season, when the monsoons transform Oman’s traditionally dry, arid features into a lush, green landscape. General Manager James Hewitson is looking forward to the resort opening its doors to visitors this summer.
"We're excited for our first Khareef," he said. "We know that many GCC residents enjoy coming to Salalah to cool down and take in the scenery and we’re looking forward to providing a luxury option for visitors as well as continuing to help Salalah grow as a destination."
In addition to offering a special GCC resident rate, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara is the first and only luxury pool villa resort in the region with 88 private pool villas of one, two and three bedrooms.
"We enjoyed our first Eid holiday since opening in November last year with more than 80 percent of our guests coming from GCC countries," added Hewitson.
"Our various sized private pool villas have been key in attracting the GCC market.
"In fact, villa bookings made up more than 50 per cent of our occupancy over Eid. In addition, we are providing a new level of luxury in Salalah that many from the GCC market who are already familiar with our brand in the Maldives and Thailand are looking
for," he said.
