‘Invest Easy’ portal makes commercial registrations in Oman easier

Muscat: A total of 1,403 commercial registrations have been updated and 4,402 new registrations had been made with the help of the “Invest Easy” portal by the end of February 21, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.
The ministry added in a press statement on Monday that 33 commercial registrations had been cancelled during this period.
E-Services provide the investors and the business sector with many facilities, acting director of Investor Services Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ahmed Bin Khalfan Bin Amer Al Badawi, said.
These include changing commercial registration, including the commercial name, legal entity, capital details, fiscal year for the commercial registry, and company address “head office address,” changing business activities’ details, investors and signatories’ details, as well as corporate cancellation and liquidation.
Some electronic services are also offered at service-provision offices and the ministry’s investor-services offices, including sale contracts “retailer, sale of shares” and determining locations of services practicing and licence, Al Badawi said.
He added, “Invest Easy portal is considered the main commercial registration portal in the Sultanate and today contains 45 self-electronic services, whereby the investor can fulfil its commercial transaction without accessing the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.”
These services, rendered to the investor, are of high quality, easy to use and available to investors 24/7. Through this, 80 per cent of the services rendered to the investor via the front offices, are self-electronic services and available via the “Invest Easy” Portal.
It is mentioned that the services offered so far are composed of four stages in the comprehensive development project of the one services station, supervised by the ministry and competent authorities.
It is hoped that in the near future a number of new e-services will be offered to the investors. We hope that they may facilitate the commercial registration process for investors and enable them to follow-up on their business transactions.
This portal also gives the investor access to knowing its commercial registries subsequent to activation of his personal ID enhanced with an electronic certification feature, whereby the investor can accesses the “Invest Easy” portal.
