Oman gearing up to host Arab Table Tennis Championship

Muscat: Preparations are in full swing as Oman Table Tennis Committee is gearing up to host the Arab Table Tennis Championship later this year.
According to Oman Table Tennis Committee chief Abdullah bin Mohammed Ba Mukhalif, the Sultanate will organise the Arab championship in August and the committee has already started preparations to make it a successful and a grand affair.
The committee met under chairmanship of Abdullah Ba Mukhalif last week, during which the discuss and finalise the duties and responsibilities to be entrusted to various committees and sub committees for smooth running of the championship.
During the championship, Oman will also host the Arab Table Tennis Federation’s meetings.
According to Abdullah Ba Mukhalif, the Oman Table Tennis Committee will hold more such meetings in the coming days to follow up with the work to be carried out in the run up to the championship.
The Arab Table Tennis Federation allotted the championship to Oman after being impressed by the bid presentation made the Oman Table Tennis Committee.
While thanking the Arab federation for showing confidence in Oman, Abdullah Ba Mukhalif promised that his committee will work hard to host an extraordinary championship.
“The championship is aimed at promoting table tennis in the Sultanate and help Omani players to improve their game. The event is also aimed at boosting tourism, which will in turn contribute to the economy,” Abdullah Ba Mukhalif said.
