Muscat: A number of commercial establishments in Sur have been fined, according to a statement by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP).

The violations came under the Consumer Protection Law Royal Decree No. 66/2014, with total fines amounting to RO 1650.

According to the report, the reasons for the fines varied between selling expired items, charging a higher price than advertised and the failure to place a price on the goods offered.

The PACP urges all suppliers, traders and service providers to comply with the laws and regulations in order to avoid falling into such violations.
