Oman bans use of clover seeds

Muscat: A specific kind of clover seed has been banned from trade and use in the Sultanate, officials announced.
A Ministerial Decision, 163/2017, which was issued with the Royal Gazette has banned the use of clover seeds (Trifolium Alexandrium L).
"The ban prohibits production, import, export, transfer, sale, resale, purchase, distribution, storage, packaging, preparation, and processing of clover seeds," the Decision said.
"Companies and companies shall dispose of their existing quantities of seeds referred to in Article 1 of this resolution by exporting or destroying them within a period not exceeding 6 months from the date of implementation of this decision," the Decision added.
Any person who violates the provisions of this Decision shall be liable to a fine of no less than OMR500, and no more than OMR100,000.
