Man arrested in Oman for threatening to kill family members, maid

Muscat: A man has been arrested after he barricaded his family and a maid inside their home and threatened to kill them, officials announced.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) said that they arrested the 27-year-old, who they described as a “mentally ill citizen”. The individual allegedly detained his family of five, along with a domestic worker of Asian nationality, inside their house in North Ghubra.
The individual also allegedly threatened to kill his family with a knife, according to the ROP. The source added that the police managed to free the family without any injuries or loss of life, and that the accused was sent to a hospital for treatment.
