A statement from PAEW read, "We would like to mention a break in the main feeder distribution tube for some areas of Bausher province."
Affected areas include Qurum, Al Sarooj, Qurum 20, Al Khuwair, Madinate Al Ilam, Madinate Al Sultan Qaboos and around the ministry road.
"Competent teams are making efforts to quickly fix it," according to the statement, but it also added, "However, due to the closure of the main distribution pipe, the water service in these areas is expected to be affected for 48 hours."
PAEW is asking the public to ration their water consumption, and to contact the Call Center at (1442) for more information.
