North Korea launches a ballistic missile into the sea off its east coast ahead of a summit of leaders from the Group of 20 countries in Germany.
Another ballistic missile fired out of North Korea Tuesday (July 4) morning, testing international patience even further.
Japan says the missile flew for about 40 minutes and may have landed in the country's exclusive economic zone.
"North Korea again enforced launch of a ballistic missile, ignoring repeated warnings from the international community," said Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
It comes just days before world leaders meet for the G20 summit, where the U.S., China, Japan and South Korea are expected to discuss efforts to rein in the reclusive state.
Donald Trump has already held back to back calls with Tokyo and Beijing over the issue, with both Asian countries reaffirming their commitment to dealing with the North.
Pyongyang has been rushing to develop a nuclear missile capable of hitting the U.S.
Moon Jae-In has called a national security council meeting in response to the latest launch.
The South Korean leader met with Trump last week where the US president called for a determined response to North Korea and stressed the importance of an alliance between the two sides.
