PACDA's operation center received a report about the drowning of a person in a pond in Wilayat Bausher, in Muscat Governorate.
The water rescue team immediately moved to the site.
Upon arrival, the authorities were informed that two Asian citizens were found to be swimming. As they both tried to exit the water, one of them was unable to get out.
"One of them was unable to get to the surface of the pond, which made his colleague call the operations center to ask for help," PACDA said.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old was dead when pulled out of the water.
PACDA asks for citizens and residents to be caution when swimming in places designated for water, and not to swim in ponds and places not intended for swimming.
"Children should be monitored at all times, and never left alone at beaches, parks and farms," PACDA said.
