Saudi's King Salman chooses son as Crown Prince

Muscat: King Salman of Saudi Arabia has issued royal orders to select his son as the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, according to Oman News Agency.
The King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud issued a number of royal orders, one of which exempted His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud from the Crown Prince post, and from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and selected His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz as the Crown Prince, and appointed him as Deputy Prime Minister, while continuing as Minister of Defence and continuing with other tasks assigned to him.
The Saudi Press Agency said today that these orders also ruled to amend paragraph (b) of Article 5 of the Basic Law of Government in the Kingdom to read that "the rulership is to be in the sons of the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faisal Al Saud, and the sons of the sons, and the most promising of them to rule, and the sons of the founding king shall not yet be king and crown prince of one branch of the descendants of the founding king," the agency reported.
