Muscat: Non-Muslims are invited to get to know Islam in this holy month, officials have announced.
The “Introduction to Islam and Cultural Exchange” Department at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs is inviting all non-Muslims to attend a social gathering that would introduce Islam.
The event targets all non-Muslims and recent converts to Islam over the age of fifteen, and will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday the 9th of June, corresponding to the 14th of Ramadan.
“This is the second social gathering after a successful event last year,” a representative at the Ministry has said.
“We hope to welcome a large number of individuals, of different backgrounds to attend and learn more about Islam during this holy month of Ramadan,”
he added.
Mwasalat has also partnered with the event, and will provide two buses for participants, free of charge. One bus will depart from Burj Al Sahwah bus station, and the second from the Ruwi bus station. The busses are scheduled to leave at 4 pm and return at 10 pm.
The event will be held at Hall number 2, and starts at 4:30pm. Organisers ask that all interested individuals must register through the link in order to be allowed into the event: www.mara.gov.om/taaruf
