Deadly car bombs hit Ramadan crowds in Baghdad

Two car bombs killed at least 20 people in Baghdad and wounded about 80 others in streets packed with crowds preparing for the Ramadan fast in the early hours of Tuesday, security sources said.

A suicide attacker detonated a car bomb outside an ice-cream parlor in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
IS militant group claiming responsibility for the blast that killed at least 13 people and wounded 40.
A few hours later a second car bomb.
Hitting in the early hours of Tuesday (May 30) morning it struck near a government office killing seven and wounding over 30.
Many people stay up past midnight during the holy month of Ramadan. The attackers choosing to target crowds who were out eating late to prepare for the next day's fast.
The group have stepped up attacks in the capital since the Iraqi-army launched a campaign to drive them out of the northern city of Mosul.
