Muscat Festival 2016 poised to be bigger and better show

Muscat: Muscat Festival’s 2016 Edition will be bigger and better.
Scheduled to be held from January 14 to February 13, the festival will feature a wide range of cultural, educational, business and sporting events covering Omani culture as well as cultures from around the world.
One of the prominent events featuring this year’s Festival is the global exhibition ‘1001 Inventions’, which will focus on the ancient Golden Age of Islamic civilization, which has produced Arab intellectuals and scientists like Al Razi, Ibn Sina, Ibn Al Haytham and others. An Omani Cultural Village, consisting of a model of a traditional Omani village and souq, will display Oman’s rich and diverse heritage.
In addition to a wide range of cultural activities, such as traditional Arabic poetry, Omani clothes shows and folk dances from outside the Sultanate, there will be a number of lectures taking place at both venues, such as ‘The Unity and Intellectual Tolerance of the Omani Society’, ‘The Impact of Oil Price Decline on the National Economy’ and ‘The Impact of Youtube’.
