Attempt to smuggle cigarettes foiled in Oman

Muscat: An attempt to smuggle 3,500 boxes of cigarettes was foiled by Customs, officials announced on Sunday.
The Directorate General of Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle 3,500 boxes of cigarettes in Al Buraimi.
The officials seized a truck that forged a local number plate to evade inspection by the Customs officials.
The cigarette boxes were found in a refrigerator used for keeping vegetables.
