Muscat: About 168 children from seven schools in Muscat joined world record breaking British runner Paula Radcliffe in a 1K run on Monday, to promote the upcoming Al Mouj Muscat Marathon.
Paula, who has been named the Muscat Marathon’s brand ambassador, also gave the children professional running tips and a motivational speech.
Schools that participated in the run included both government and private schools: Al Nubaha School, Al Nabras School, As Seeb International School, A’Soud Global School (AGS), United Private School (UPS), Apple Green Private School, and Ridhwan School.

Speaking exclusively to Times of Oman, a 10-year-old batch of girls from AGS said they had an amazing time running with Paula, and were looking forward to participate in the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon next year which is scheduled to take place on January 18 and 19, 2019 — since it also includes a 1K Kids Run.
Another group of first-time runners from UPS said that they also learned a lot from what Paula shared with them. “We understood and learnt that there is nothing such as failure in life, and if you believe in something, you can do it,” said one of the girls from the batch.
