State Council Chairman Mantheri receives Turkish deputy prime minister in Oman

Muscat: Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council today received Mehmet Simsek, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, within the framework of his current official to the Sultanate.
The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations and means of developing the existing cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the developments of situations in the region, as well as several regional and international issues of common concern.
The Chairman of State Council praised the good relations between the Sultanate and Turkey and the keenness of the two countries to continuously developing the existing cooperation between them in various domains.
He stressed the importance of mutual visits and their role in enhancing bilateral relations and opening new avenues of cooperation between the Sultanate and Turkey, especially in parliamentary relations.
He also stressed the importance of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in light of the Sultanate’s promising investment opportunities.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey commended the Omani parliamentary experience and its development and uniqueness.
He highlighted the commonalities between the two countries and their friendly peoples, which contribute to enhancing bilateral relations and supporting joint cooperation in all fields. He affirmed his country’s keenness to develop relations of bilateral cooperation and expand them to cover all aspects for the interest of the two countries.
He added that there are promising prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially in the economic arena.
He highlighted in this regard the potentials of his country and its willingness to enter into trade and investment partnerships with the Sultanate.
The meeting was attended by Yahya bin Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD), the Deputy Chairman of the State Council, its honourable members, the Secretary General of the State Council and the Turkish Ambassador to the Sultanate.
