Oman's Sayyid Fahd receives Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Wednesday received Mehmet Simsek, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Head of the Turkish side in meetings of the 10th session of the Omani-Turkish Joint Committee.
After Sayyid Fahd welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation, he affirmed that the strong bilateral relations between the two countries are witnessing a remarkable progress, thanks to the sincere desire of the two sides to promote them for the interest of the two friendly peoples.
Conversation during the meeting touched on means of supporting the joint cooperation, as well as ways of developing its economic and investment fields, developing small and medium enterprises with setting up joint ventures particularly in the free economic zones, exchanging expertise and stressing the importance of activating the bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries. Several current issues at the regional and international arenas were also reviewed.
Mehmet Simsek expressed his delight and that of his accompanying delegation of this visit due to its positives at the level of strengthening the relations and exchanging views on several issues.
He affirmed appreciation of his country to the Sultanate's foreign policy, commending his meetings with officials in the Sultanate and their positive outcomes.
The meeting was attended by Yahya bin Said al-Jabri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (SEZAD), Head of the Omani side in the Omani-Turkish Joint Committee and Atilay Ersan, Turkish Ambassador to the Sultanate.
