Muscat: Manvi Sarawanan claimed the girls under-13 singles title at the Al Amana Building Materials Company-sponsored Annual Table Tennis Tournament organised by the Indian Social Club (ISC).
In the final, Manvi played with conviction to script a confident victory over Ananya Krishnan in straight games 11-5, 11-9, 11-6, 11-4.
Arundhati Ramesh qualified for the semifinal of the senior girls singles after topping her group in the round-robin league. Arundhati remained unbeaten in her group.
Arundhati fought back from a game down to overcome Sneha Ganesh 9-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-4 and defeated Aanya Ravindra 11-6, 11-6, 11-6.
Manvi Sarawanan also qualified for the last four but had her share of anxiety. She was stretched to the limit before overcoming the determination of Surabhi Salian with a 8-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 11-2 verdict and in the second outing, defeated Ananya Krishnan 11-9, 11-3, 11-5.
In the semifinals, Arundhati will take on Surabhi Salian and Manvi will clash with Sneha Ganesh.
