Oman takes part in conferences of the parties to the Basel and Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions

Geneva: Oman, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs participated in the conferences of the parties to the Basel and Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions which recently concluded in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Sultanate's delegation was chaired by Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, the Sultanate's permanent representative to the organisations of the United Nations in Geneva.
It is worth mentioning that the conferences of the parties to the Basel and Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions discussed a number of issues, mainly the evaluation of the efficiency of the conventions and compliance of the parties with the provisions and such conventions, the exemptions given to some member states for the use of some hazardous chemicals mentioned in the list of the conventions among other issues.
