Latest weather analysis shows that the Sultanate will affected by a rain over North Batinah, Al Hajar Mountains and the Dhofar governorate. Rain clouds are expected to form over the Muscat region on Monday. So far, Rustaq, Sohar and Shinas had lots of rain.
Farm fires are the most common type of fire during the summer, with an increase of more than 26 per cent within the last three years. Based on the statistics from the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance there were 789 farm fires addressed by the authorities 2016.
At least 27 passengers were hurt in flight from Moscow to Bangkok after the Aeroflot plane met with severe turbulence. The Boeing 777 hit an air pocket around 40 minutes before landing. The crew onboard were unable to warn passengers of the danger as the turbulence occurred in the clear sky.
