Joint forces conduct land-marine operation

Muscat: Within the activities of the Military Exercise Swift Sword 3, the Joint Naval Force conducted a land-marine operation in preparation for a series of land operation . A number of vessels and land force elements from the British Royal Navy and planes of the joint air force took part in the operation against assumed land forces.
Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman ( Deputy Director of the Exercise) and a number of senior officer from the Oman and the British sides attended the event.
Lt. General Ahmed bin Harith Al Nabhani, Commander of the Sultan’s Armed Forces ( Director of the Exercise) gave a speech on the operation in which he said that “We are proud of the success of the joint force which forced the assumed enemy to retreat outside the country and concluded the last stage of the exercise.”
He also expressed his delight over the achievement of the targeted goals. He said: “With the conclusion of this stage we would address the stage of post- conflict and reconstruction efforts which is a significant stage for the armed forces and the other military, security and civil departments.” -ONA
Brigadier Salim bin Saif Al Hosni, commandant of the Joint Land Force said that the joint land force launched a successful and attack on an assumed enemy which caused losses to them. He ascribed the success to the close and high-level coordination and communication plans.
The operation was attended by General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office; Lt. general Ahmed bin Harith Al Nabhani, Commander of the Sultan’s Armed Forces ( Director of the Exercise); Major General Matar bin Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman ( Commandant of the Joint Forces); Air Vice Marshal Matar bin Ali Al Obaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman ( Commandant of the Exercise Control); Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman ( Deputy Director of the Exercise) ; Major general Amer bin Salim Al Ameri, Commander of the Sultan’s Special Force ; Major general Mahad bin Mubarak Al Mashaikhi, Secretary General for Military Affairs at the Royal Office and a number of commandants and senior officers from both sides.
